Amazon Confirms Nicolas Cage As Ben Reilly In Live-Action Spider-Noir
Amazon has confirmed that Nicolas Cage will play Ben Reilly in the upcoming live-action Spider-Noir series for Prime Video, settling months of speculation about whether the production would center on a variant of Peter Parker. The studio detailed the premise alongside new posters that preview the show’s black-and-white and color presentation options.
Spider-Noir adapts Marvel’s Spider-Man Noir line and repositions Reilly as an aging private investigator in 1930s New York. The character, described as down on his luck and still shadowed by his past as the city’s lone superhero, anchors the series’ view of a city caught between crime and personal fallout. This marks the first official confirmation that Cage is portraying Reilly rather than Parker, aligning the project with the character’s distinct standing in Marvel canon as a Peter Parker clone who evolved into his own identity after early conflicts.
Ben Reilly first appeared in 1975’s The Amazing Spider-Man #149, created by writer Gerry Conway. His presence in modern media expanded in 2023’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, where Andy Samberg voiced the Scarlet Spider. Amazon’s adaptation breaks from the animated version by embedding Reilly in a grounded noir framework and placing his investigative life at the center of the narrative.
The studio said the series will premiere in 2026. It will debut first on MGM+ in the United States before moving to Prime Video for a global release across more than 240 territories the following day.

The cast includes Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson. Guest appearances span Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson, and Kai Caster.
Harry Bradbeer directed and executive-produced the first two episodes. Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot act as co-showrunners and executive producers, developing the series with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal. Their involvement links Spider-Noir to the creative lineage behind Into the Spider-Verse, though Amazon’s project positions itself as a separate live-action interpretation.
