The April lineup includes Lords of the Fallen for PlayStation 5, Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream for PlayStation 5, and Tomb Raider I–III Remastered for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. As always, once players claim these titles, they remain in the library as long as the subscription is active.

A Strong Mix of Genres This Month

April’s selection shows Sony’s continued effort to provide variety in its monthly offerings. From dark fantasy combat to anime co-op action and nostalgic remasters, this lineup appeals to different types of players.

Unlike some previous months that focused heavily on indie titles or older releases, April 2026 feels more balanced, with a combination of relatively recent games and classic experiences brought back with modern improvements.

Lords of the Fallen - A Dark Fantasy Soulslike

The biggest title in this month’s lineup is Lords of the Fallen, a dark fantasy action RPG that follows the “soulslike” formula popularized by challenging combat, deep world-building, and atmospheric design.

The game stands out thanks to its dual-world mechanic, where players can switch between the realm of the living and the realm of the dead. This system is not only part of the story but also deeply integrated into gameplay, puzzles, and exploration.

Combat in Lords of the Fallen is methodical and punishing, requiring players to carefully manage stamina, timing, and positioning. Boss fights are a major highlight, offering large-scale encounters that test both skill and patience.

For players who enjoy games like Elden Ring or Dark Souls, this is easily the most important addition to PS Plus this month.

Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream - Anime Co-op Action

Next in the lineup is Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream, a game based on the popular anime franchise. Unlike traditional RPG entries in the series, this title focuses heavily on multiplayer and cooperative gameplay.

Players can team up with others to complete missions, fight enemies, and explore different scenarios inspired by the Sword Art Online universe. The game features a wide roster of characters from the series, each with unique abilities and playstyles.

The emphasis on co-op makes it a great option for players who want something more social. While it may not appeal to everyone, fans of the anime and players looking for a lighter, more action-focused experience may find it enjoyable.

Tomb Raider I–III Remastered - Classic Adventures Return

The third title in the lineup is Tomb Raider I–III Remastered, a collection that brings back the original Lara Croft adventures with updated visuals and modern improvements.

This collection includes the first three Tomb Raider games, which helped define the action-adventure genre in the 1990s. Players can explore ancient tombs, solve puzzles, and experience classic platforming gameplay that influenced generations of games.

The remastered version improves textures, lighting, and controls while still allowing players to switch to the original visuals if they prefer a more nostalgic experience. For longtime fans, this is a chance to revisit classic titles, while new players can discover the origins of one of gaming’s most iconic characters.

Availability and How to Claim

All three games will become available on April 7 and can be claimed until early May. To add them to your library, you simply need an active PlayStation Plus subscription and access to the PlayStation Store.

Once claimed, the games remain available in your library for as long as your subscription is active, even after they leave the monthly rotation.

As with most PS Plus lineups, player reactions have been mixed. Many users are happy to see a major title like Lords of the Fallen included, as it offers a full AAA-style experience.

However, some players expected a stronger lineup overall, especially considering recent months. The inclusion of Tomb Raider Remastered has also sparked discussion, with some appreciating the nostalgia while others hoped for a more modern title.

Despite this, the lineup still provides solid value, especially for players who have not yet tried these games.

Why This Month Still Matters

The April lineup for PlayStation Plus may not be the most explosive selection ever, but it still represents solid value for subscribers. The inclusion of Lords of the Fallen alone makes the month notable, as it is a large, modern action RPG that many players have not tried yet.

At the same time, Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream adds a multiplayer-focused experience, while Tomb Raider I–III Remastered brings classic games back with updated visuals. This combination of modern, multiplayer, and classic content shows Sony’s strategy of offering different types of games each month instead of focusing on only one genre.
