It gets updated whenever Sony swaps the monthly lineup.
Every month, Sony drops a few free games, and you've got the rest of that month to add them to your library. So in practice, you subscribe, you grab each new batch before the window closes (a month per batch), and a decent collection piles up over time. Cancel the subscription, and those games don't vanish — they're tied to your account for good. The only catch is that, actually, to play them again, or claim new ones, you have to resubscribe. No active PS Plus means no launching what you already claimed, and nothing new to add.
PS Plus Free Games for July 2026
June's Essential lineup is three games:
It's a spread that tries to cover a lot of tastes at once. Grounded is Obsidian's co-op survival game where you're shrunk to the size of an ant in your own backyard, and it's at its best with a group of four. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is a Smash-style platform fighter with cartoon characters, easy to pick up for couch sessions. Darktide leans the other way — a co-op shooter set in Warhammer 40,000 from the Vermintide studio, all about coordinated squad slaughter.
You can claim all three from June 2 to July 6, 2026. Add them while the offer's live, and they'll stay playable for as long as your subscription is active.

If you missed these, they're no longer free — but both are worth knowing about. Citizen Sleeper is a tabletop-inspired narrative RPG set on a dying space station at the edge of interstellar capitalism, and it landed as one of 2022's most acclaimed indies, with writing that punches well above its weight. ROBOBEAT is a rhythm-shooter roguelike where you shoot in sync with the beat — and you can load your own tracks into its music editor, which is the sort of feature that turns a fun game into a personal one. The archive here just shows what the current offer replaced, so you can see at a glance whether you grabbed everything in time.

Sony has not officially announced the next PS Plus lineup yet. Based on recent rotations, players usually expect a mix of action, indie, and multiplayer titles near the end of the month.
