unVEIL the World Is Shutting Down Just Months After Launch — Here’s What Happened

NetEase Games and Shueisha Games have officially announced the shutdown of their tactical RPG unVEIL the world, with the game’s service set to end on May 31, 2026. The news was shared via an official notice, confirming that the title will be discontinued less than a year after its launch.

A Promising Concept That Fell Short

unVEIL the world had a relatively short lifespan. Initially revealed in September 2022 as a mobile tactical RPG, the game entered closed beta testing in November 2024 on both Android and iOS. Pre-registration later opened in August 2025, building anticipation for a wider release, though the game ultimately launched only in Japan.

The story was centered around a massive, mysterious tower connecting multiple worlds, rumored to contain limitless treasures at its peak. Players followed a group of boys on a journey to reach this “Eden,” with the game combining adventure elements and a manga-inspired narrative style. On paper, it was an ambitious concept with strong visual appeal.

Low Engagement Led to Early Shutdown

Despite its unique premise and build-up, the game struggled to maintain a steady player base. Interest remained low, and even after the shutdown announcement, many players admitted they were unaware the game even existed. These factors likely contributed to the decision to end service so early in its lifecycle.

Refunds and Final Access Details

Following the shutdown, players who still have unused paid Eden Light Crystals will be eligible for refunds. The refund request period will run from June 1 to August 31, 2026, with options including bank transfers or refunds via Google accounts.

New account registrations have already been disabled as of March 31, 2026, and purchases of premium currency are no longer available. However, the game can still be downloaded from app stores and played until the servers officially go offline at the end of May.
