The organizers of IEM Katowice 2018 have announced the groups for their championship and revealed the first pairs. The competition starts on February 27 this year and will be started with the match SK Gaming vs AVANGAR in Group A.

The group stage will be hosted by the GSL system, where the teams will fight in the double-elimination bracket. The first rounds will be played in a bo1 format, whole the next ones will be run in a bo3 format. Teams will have to win three maps to prevail at the grand final.
