Liquid Bench ultimate, Search for New Sniper Continues

Team Liquid have parted ways with Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak as their starting sniper, the organization announced on its X page.

Ultimate joined Liquid in July 2024, expected to bring firepower and stability to the North American roster. Two years later, the results tell a different story. Across 331 maps with Liquid, he posted a modest 1.02 rating and 69.5 ADR — numbers that fall short even by AWPer standards, where raw impact usually offsets a lighter round-by-round workload.

The bigger issue was the lack of silverware. Despite two full years on the roster, ultimate never helped Liquid lift a major trophy. The closest the team came were third-place finishes at FISSURE Playground #2 and the CS Asia Championships 2025, respectable results but well short of what a roster built around NAF and EliGE was expected to deliver.

With ultimate out, Liquid's active lineup now reads:

That leaves the team without an AWPer heading into a busy stretch of the calendar. Who takes over the role is still unclear, but a replacement announcement looks imminent. The timing puts real pressure on Liquid's management. Finding and integrating a new AWPer in under two weeks is a tight turnaround, especially with siuhy still settling into the IGL role and the team looking to rebuild chemistry after a stretch of underwhelming results. Whether Liquid opt for an established name or gamble on a rising talent will say a lot about their ambitions for the rest of 2026.

For now, ultimate's departure closes a two-year chapter that promised more than it delivered. Liquid fans will be watching closely for the next roster move — and hoping it brings the firepower this lineup has been missing.
