FACEIT Brings Vertigo Back to Matchmaking for Season 9

FACEIT has confirmed that Vertigo will return to the platform's matchmaking map pool when Season 9 launches on August 5. The decision comes after a community vote in which the map received the most support from players.

According to FACEIT, 97,421 users participated in the poll to decide which map should be added back to the competitive rotation. Vertigo emerged as the winner and will once again be available for ranked matchmaking.

Matches played on Vertigo will award Elo just like games on any other map in the pool. To give players more flexibility, FACEIT is also introducing a free option to remove Vertigo from an individual player's map selection.

Unlike the standard map ban system, excluding Vertigo will not require a FACEIT Premium subscription or use one of the player's existing map bans. This allows users to opt out of the map without changing their current preferences, while those interested in playing the updated version can keep it enabled from the start of Season 9.

In other CS2 news, Brazilian organization Sharks recently announced its rebrand to DENDELE CS following a partnership with the Kings League, marking one of the most notable organizational changes in the South American Counter-Strike scene this summer.
