CS2 Update Brings Bomb Interaction Changes and Workshop Map Overhauls

Valve has rolled out a new CS2 update, bumping the client and server to build 2000875 (patch version 1.41.7.0). The patch focuses on bomb-related interactions and delivers substantial changelogs for three community Workshop maps: Fachwerk, Boulder, and Debris.

Bomb Damage and Explosion Changes

The update introduces two changes to how the planted bomb behaves:

  • The bomb damage health preview is now revealed once the bomb becomes audible, giving players earlier information about incoming damage.
  • The bomb explosion now interacts with smoke grenade clouds and molotov/incendiary fire, adding a new layer to utility play around plant sites.

Workshop and Menu Additions

Alongside the gameplay tweaks, Valve added a Workshop maps section with a shortcut to Community Workshop content directly in the client, and made Play menu additions specifically for Steam China.

Fachwerk Changelog

The Workshop map Fachwerk received a large set of fixes and adjustments:

  • Reblended all ground materials to support correct surface props
  • Replaced the steps on CT mid with a drop
  • Slightly increased bomb power on both A and B plants
  • Added dirt to the flower pot in Apps
  • Attempted to re-enable some sounds that were not playing on official servers for some reason
  • Attempted to fix a radar leak through doors in Kaffee
  • Clipping improvements
  • Fixed a couple of geometry gaps (thanks to HelMap and zeph1re)
  • Moved the bar stool in Kaffee for better visibility
  • Raised crates in B main to prevent unintentional wallbangs
  • Reduced the amount of interactive roof tiles to reduce server load
  • Removed artificial pink tinting from the safe on A plant
  • Realigned some materials
  • Miscellaneous fixes

Boulder Changelog

Boulder also picked up a round of fixes:

  • Removed the gap between the crate and the painting in the mid lane
  • Fixed a possibility of weapons being lost through textures near the church on the T side
  • Fixed a bomb-stuck spot in the wine cellar
  • Adjusted collision around the carpets to ensure proper footstep sounds
  • Minor map clipping fixes (thanks to the community)

Debris Changelog

Debris received a smaller set of targeted fixes:

  • Fixed a displacement gap at Mid under the wreckage
  • Fixed a pixel gap in the divider at Site
  • Removed shade at Site to improve the angle from Heaven to Mid

This update follows a series of smaller patches released earlier in July, which had already refreshed the Workshop event lineup and reworked the XP Shop's visual and logic systems on the main menu.
