Kylian Mbappe Appears on EA Sports FC 27 Cover Art; Game’s Full Reveal Scheduled for July 23

Even though the 2026 FIFA World Cup ended last week, and club championships are still a little way off, football fans have something to be excited about: Electronic Arts has shared the first official details on the new football simulator entry, EA Sports FC 27. Specifically, the studio revealed the cover art and confirmed when the full reveal will happen.

On its social media accounts, the developers announced that Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappé—who previously appeared on the covers of FIFA 21, FIFA 22, and FIFA 23—is on the cover art on EA Sports FC 27. Electronic Arts also added that the full reveal is set for July 23, when the debut trailer drops along with the first details, as you can check out below:

Speaking of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, it turns out the tournament's winner—Spain— was already known back in June, since EA Sports FC 26, just like it's done for the past four World Cups, correctly predicted the winner through its simulation.

As for EA Sports FC 27, recently insider billbil-kun shared that the game is scheduled for release on September 25, 2026, and also revealed its platforms, editions, and prices. We don't know anything about new features yet, but there have long been rumors of a fully open-world mode titled The Grounds, where players could interact with each other on a big map, play mini-games, and customize their characters. EA hasn't commented on any of this, so these leaks should be considered as rumors.

EA Sports FC 27 is rumored to release on September 25 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and Switch 2.
