EA Sports Is Developing a New AAA Live Service F2P Title

Last week, Electronic Arts released the latest entry in its football simulator series, EA Sports FC 27. Meanwhile, a new report suggests the studio's already working on another project, with first details surfacing through job listings on EA's website.

Insider Gaming spotted that EA is developing an unannounced AAA, live-service, free-to-play game under the EA Sports banner. The studio is currently hiring a client engineer for its Shanghai division to help “deliver high-quality features and live service support for a AAA free-to-play online title.” EA China is best known for EA SPORTS FC Mobile, so this new project could either be a mobile port of an existing game or something entirely new.

EA Sports appears to be working on a FREE AAA game, as it showed up in their job listing description.

EA hasn't commented on the unannounced project yet. As for EA Sports FC 27, critics have generally responded well, praising improvements to career mode, the new open-world "The Grounds" mode, and various gameplay tweaks. Players, though, see things differently. On Metacritic, the game sits at a user score of just 2.8, with complaints centered on monetization and a significant number of bugs, with many calling it a reskin of FC 26 that barely feels different, right down to a main menu that looks nearly identical, while still failing to fix the previous game's technical issues.
