EA Sports FC 27's Surprising Rating Revealed - PEGI 16
On July 21, Electronic Arts revealed Kylian Mbappé as the cover star of EA Sports FC 27 —the latest entry in the football simulator series—with a full reveal coming later this week, including the debut trailer and first details. Meanwhile, leaks keep surfacing, and one of them is related to a pretty significant change to the game's rating.
It's been revealed that EA Sports FC 27, unlike its predecessors, will have a PEGI 16 rating. As explained, it is related to the new rules around games featuring in-game items; in the case of EA Sports FC 27, it’s about Ultimate Team packs, as you can check out below:
#FC27 will be rated PEGI 16 in Europe!
The change comes after PEGI introduced new rating rules for games featuring loot box systems like Ultimate Team packs.
Previous titles were rated PEGI 3, making this the biggest age rating change in the series' history.
Another recent leak revealed EA Sports FC 27 will also include three different editions —Standard, Ultimate, and Ultimate+—along with details on their contents and pre-order bonuses.
At the same time, last week insider billbil-kun also shared that EA Sports FC 27 is set for release on September 25, 2026, along with its platforms, editions, and prices. We still don't know much about new features, but there have long been rumors of a fully open-world mode called The Grounds, where players could interact with each other on a big map, play mini-games, and customize their characters. Electronic Arts hasn't given any comments regarding this, so for now it should be considered with a grain of salt.
EA Sports FC 27 is rumored to release on September 25 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and Switch 2.
