Capcom’s Newest Title, Pragmata, Will Release One Week Earlier

Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem, released last week, has become a massive success for the studio, as it broke the record as the fastest-selling video game in the franchise. The game also received positive reviews from the players and critics, with the majority already calling Requiem one of the best, if not the best, game of 2026.

And Capcom is not looking to stop, as the studio will also release Pragmata, their first new IP in 14 years, this year. The game was reportedly set to release on April 24 for PC, Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2; however, the developers have pushed back the launch day by one week—it's now set to release on April 17. The confirmation comes from IGN, where the new release date was mentioned during the game’s trailer. Usually, it’s happening when the studio is confident about the game’s launch—and it looks like Pragmata could be a project to watch this year.

Capcom’s Newest Title, Pragmata, Will Release One Week Earlier 1

Pragmata was initially announced by Capcom back in 2020, and since then the project has been delayed a few times. The story follows an astronaut, Hugh, and his android companion, Diana; it takes place in sci-fi setting, and the gameplay mechanics allow the player to control both characters. While playing, Hugh is focused on action, as he’s able to use multiple weapons and a jetpack, and Diana can hack the robots to make Hugh attack them. It’s similar to how Capcom diversified the gameplay of Resident Evil Requiem, where the gameplay for Grace looks like horror, while Leon is always involved in action scenes, including melee attacks and using guns. Pragmata is doing the same but simultaneously—and the project is looking really exciting.

Pragmata is set to release on April 17 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
