Resident Evil Requiem Has Broken Game Series Selling Record

Resident Evil Requiem is definitely one of the biggest video game releases so far and one of the best titles of 2026 as well, according to various gaming magazines and journalists. The game also showed some great selling statistics—and Capcom already has boasted about the results.

During today’s press release from Capcom, it was revealed that Resident Evil Requiem currently surpasses 5 million copies and has become the fastest-selling title in the history of the franchise. It’s a tremendous success for the game and for the studio as well, considering Requiem was released less than one week ago and showed such a massive result. In other news, Capcom shared that the number of sales for all franchises is 183 million copies, dated for December 31, 2025.

Resident Evil Requiem has also received the biggest user score on Metacritic —95—and a lot of players have already picked Capcom’s latest installment as a Game of the Year contender. According to the latest report from insider Dust Golem, the game will also receive a DLC in the future, and it might be dedicated to one of the two main characters, Leon S. Kennedy.
