Six months after its initial announcement, the Japanese company Konami has once again revealed more details to fans about its upcoming JRPG project. During Sony’s State of Play presentation in September, the studio announced an approximate release year and showed the game’s second trailer.

Rev. NOiR takes place in a fantasy world threatened by a mysterious phenomenon called the lightfall. It is a deadly anomaly resembling rain: every drop that falls on a living creature brings death. A new season of the lightfall is approaching, so humanity must find a way to stop the catastrophe before it destroys even more lands. The main character is a silent young man named Ash. His astral destiny commands him to “save countless people,” though he doesn’t know exactly what that means
