Pearl Abyss Is Working to Bring Crimson Desert to Nintendo Switch 2
Pearl Abyss’ Crimson Desert continues to gain momentum. This week, the game has officially sold more than 4 million copies across all platforms, and the studio must be happy with how Crimson Desert is performing now, especially after negative feedback when it was launched in mid-March.
Developers are actively releasing updates and patches for Crimson Desert, with last week’s Patch Notes Version 1.01.00 fixing a lot of stuff and bringing some new content, but more importantly, after this update, Crimson Desert has broken all-time player record on Steam, and reviews have become ‘Mostly Positive’ on the platform.
At the same time, the CEO of Pearl Abyss, Heo Jin-young, recently spoke with South Korean gaming outlet INVEN, where he not only raised the possibility that Crimson Desert might receive mod support and multiplayer in the future—though this is technically difficult to implement at the moment—but also confirmed Pearl Abyss is working on a Crimson Desert version for Nintendo Switch 2. Although, it will also probably take some time due to the console’s specification, as you can check out below:
“Although there are certain areas where we will have to make compromises on some graphic quality, since the Switch currently has limited technical specifications compared to other consoles, we have already begun internal research into the possibility of porting the game.”
