Forgotten Activision Racing Game Could Receive a Remaster Soon

Typically, when a company updates the domains for its intellectual property, it could mean those properties could receive enhanced versions – in the world of video games its usually remastered versions of games or remakes. The latest update from Activision regarding some underrated video game of 2010s gives players hope.

As noticed by Reddit user Jasonvsfreddyvs, last year Activision updated the domain for Blur video game. Studio was served as its publisher and still owns the right to the game. Blur is an arcade combat racing title, developed by Bizarre Creations. At one point, the game was set to receive a sequel but when Activision decided to shut down Bizarre Creations, it was not part of a plan anymore.

Reddit user also pays attention that domain was updated until 2027, which could potentially mean the game could receive a remastered version till then, though, it’s just a speculation at the moment. You can check out the original post from Jasonvsfreddyvs below:

"Activision updated Blur's web domain last year, right on its 15th anniversary

It seems Activision has renewed the web domain for the 2010 PS3 and Xbox 360 arcade racing game "Blur" until 2027 https://www.whois.com/whois/blurgame.com. This coincides with the game's 15th anniversary in May 2025, and given that Prototype is being remastered, as previously discussed https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/1nudqgx/prototype_remaster_might_just_be_in_the_works/, since Prototype's web domain is also registered until 2027 https://www.whois.com/whois/prototypegame.com, we now have to wonder if Blur is in Activision's plans for a remaster on modern systems like PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. I remember that Blur was a very underrated game in its day, but fondly remembered by many players. They should give it another chance and re-release it on modern systems, and if it sells well, they should revive the sequel they had planned, since the sequel's art style was futuristic."

In his post, Prototype remastered is also mentioned, as Activision own the rights on game series as well, but yesterday’s report from Window Center’s Jez Corden once again confirms – there are no plans to make a new Prototype video game or remake/remastered version of Prototype and Prototype 2.
