Ubisoft recently confirmed in their Assassin’s Creed: Into 2026 blog that we should expect more news to be coming about the Netflix adaptation. A recent report suggested the show is taking place in ancient Rome, and What’s on Netflix portal reveals the production of the Assassin’s Creed series has officially started this week in Rome (Italy), and we just have to wait for the official confirmation from Netflix. We can also expect some images from the production set to be leaked.

Netflix Has Started the Production of Assassin’s Creed TV Show 1

The confirmed cast of Assassin’s Creed TV show includes Toby Wallace (Babyteeth), Lola Petticrew (Say Nothing), Zachary Hart (Peaky Blinders), Laura Marcus (Bad Education), and Tanzyn Crawford (Swift Street). Their roles still remain unknown, though. According to the above-mentioned report, Netflix's adaptation of Assassin’s Creed will feature such historical figures as Emperor Nero and Seneca the Younger, so maybe one of the actors is playing these characters.

Roberto Patino (Westworld) and David Wiener (Homecoming) will serve as the series’ showrunners, while the writers team consists of Sanaz Toossi (A League of Their Own), Sam Reynolds (The Walking Dead: World Beyond), Daniel Goldberg, and Tom Hemmings.

As production has already started, the release date of Netflix’s Assassin’s Creed is still unknown, but the show is likely to be released somewhere in 2027.
