Bloober Team Announced Onyx: The Dark Grip—A New Exclusive for Nintendo Switch 2

During the most recent Nintendo Direct presentation, which has already concluded, there were quite a few announcements of upcoming Switch 2 exclusives, including titles from third-party studios. One such announcement came from Bloober Team and was related to a new exclusive for the Nintendo platform.

Bloober Team, the studio best known for Cronos: The New Dawn and the Silent Hill 2 remake, has announced its new project: Onyx: The Dark Grip. This game is also a horror title, and its main feature lies in its controls. Onyx: The Dark Grip is designed for handheld play, where players must interact with the protagonist and the environment using only the touchscreen. What's even more interesting is that earlier this year, Bloober Team registered the trademark Onyx: The Dark Grip, but since then, details about this mysterious project have remained under wraps. Now, however, there are no more secrets surrounding it. Onyx: The Dark Grip will be released in 2027 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2.

As for Bloober Team, the studio continues to work on a DLC for Cronos: The New Dawn titled Lazarus and the asymmetrical horror game SAW: Genesis. Neither project has an official release date yet, but both are expected to launch in 2026. Bloober Team is also officially working on a remake of the original Silent Hill - the release date remains unknown as well.
