Another Famous Assassin’s Creed Developer Has Left Ubisoft
Ubisoft is not having a good time nowadays; recently the studio cancelled five new projects, including the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Moreover, the company is losing more and more employees, and some big names, like Jeffrey Yohalem, scriptwriter for multiple Assassin’s Creed video games, are not exceptions.
And the story continues, as another Ubisoft veteran, Luc Couture, has announced he is leaving the studio after 24 years. He worked as a level designer for the Prince of Persia and Assassin’s Creed franchises, but also on Far Cry 4, Watch Dogs 2, Watch Dogs: Legion, and more. He released his statement on LinkedIn page:
“Hello you beautiful community!
Today was my last day at Ubisoft Montreal. It's been an incredible journey that lasted more than 20 years…During that time, I have learned a lot about game development, relationships and myself. I even met my wife and mother of my children because of Ubisoft colleague...so how blessed am I....right?
But I was recently in need for some change. So that's why I will soon pivot to tackling new challenges as part of a smaller studio with other veterans. Times are exciting. So stay tuned!”
Luc Couture was also working on Assassin’s Creed Hexe—the latest game series title, reportedly set to release this year, but still without a release date.
