Insomniac Games Knows About Marvel’s Wolverine Feedback—and Preparing to Fix Issues Soon

Less than 24 hours ago, a new PlayStation 5 exclusive—Marvel's Wolverine, developed by Insomniac Games—was released. As with critics, gamers have generally given the new Wolverine game positive reviews, though there have been a number of complaints. For their part, the developers have already made it clear they are working on fixing a number of issues to deliver the best possible gaming experience.

Specifically, James Stevenson, Director of Community and Marketing at Insomniac Games, stated this in a post on X, noting over the past few days the studio has been actively listening to user feedback and will be addressing some issues shortly. Additionally, Stevenson referred to one of the most common complaints about Marvel's Wolverine—the so-called scent trails guide the character's path. According to players, this feature appears too frequently in the game and detracts from the overall experience—and it’s possible the developers plan to make it a disableable feature in a future update. James Stevenson’s full statement is available below:

We have been 100% listening over the last few days and the team has been cooking hard today in response to some of the feedback - in case you were wondering what that smell out of our kitchen was.

When it comes to player reviews of Marvel's Wolverine, they generally echoed the critics' opinions: praising the story, graphics, and combat system but criticizing the monotonous gameplay. Nevertheless, as noted on social media, Marvel's Wolverine currently has a rating of 4.8/5 on the PS Store, so perhaps claiming the game is bad is a gross overstatement.

Marvel's Wolverine currently has a critics' score of 77 on Metacritic and 79 on OpenCritic, with 69% of critics recommending the game. The title also ranks second on the list of PlayStation Studios' lowest-rated games, trailing only Concord.
