Far Cry TV Series Filming Has Officially Started
One of the upcoming video game adaptations is a TV series based on Ubisoft's Far Cry franchise. Although there are several games that would make for worthy adaptations, the upcoming project will be a standalone work and will not include any direct connections to the games.
Based on reports from social media, production of the Far Cry TV series has officially begun, as confirmed by the photo tagging of director Noah Howley and director of photography Polly Morgan. The premiere date for the series is not yet known, but given the timeline, there’s a chance the first season will be released by late 2027 or early 2028.

No details about the first Far Cry season have been revealed, but it has been confirmed each new season, like the games, will feature a new story. The series' cast includes Lizzy Caplan, Rob Mac, and Steve Buscemi.
As for the new Far Cry game, in July it was revealed Ubisoft is changing the franchise’s direction. Specifically, an extraction shooter based on the franchise was officially canceled, and work is already underway on a new, ambitious project within the series, codenamed Kodiak. Additionally, development continues on Far Cry 7—the next numbered entry in the series, which is reportedly set in Alaska. However, the game’s release date remains unknown, as it is still believed to be in problematic development.
