Unannounced Injustice 3 Reportedly Was Tested Recently
Rumors have been circulating for quite some time that NetherRealm Studios is actively working on the third Injustice video game, a claim supported by several leaks, though the developers have not officially confirmed anything. Nevertheless, a new report adds even more fuel to the fire, suggesting the game is in the final stages of development.
As reported by EventHubs with a reference to Good Gamer Group—whose website page is currently unavailable—tests for an unannounced AAA fighting game were held in the U.S. from September 14 to 15. Although NetherRealm Studios is not mentioned in this report, fans are almost certain that this refers, in one way or another, to Injustice 3, given all the previous rumors and the mention of “AAA.”
NetherRealm's next project has yet to be officially announced, but many believe it to be the third entry in the studio's superhero fighting game series Injustice. Now, there are new signs that select few outside the studio are playing Injustice 3.
Lots of people speculated Injustice 3 might be announced this summer at Gamescom or during a State of Play presentation during the year, but that didn't happen. There's another major event this year—The Game Awards—and it's possible NetherRealm and Warner Bros. will decide to announce the third game this December.
Given the DC brand's popularity, Injustice 3 could be a major financial success for Warner Bros. Last month, NetherRealm's CCO Ed Boon confirmed Injustice 2, released in 2017, sold 9 million copies across all platforms.
