Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Gets First PC Patch to Fix Crashes

Nixxes has released the first PC patch for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, addressing stability issues that plagued the game at launch. Title Update 1.31.0.0 aims to resolve crashes, particularly those occurring when Ray Tracing is enabled. While this patch improves overall stability, the developers acknowledge that some crashes remain and will be addressed in future updates.

Since its launch, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has received mixed reviews on Steam, with many players citing crashes and performance issues. While some users report a smoother experience, others continue to struggle with technical problems.

Early tests suggest the game is highly CPU-bound when running at max settings with Ray Tracing enabled. Even high-end systems, such as those featuring an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D and an NVIDIA RTX 5090, experience bottlenecks at native 4K. To improve performance, players may need to enable Frame Generation or lower Ray Tracing quality.

Further details on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC performance will be covered in an upcoming analysis. Stay tuned for more insights.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, released in 2023 by Insomniac Games, continues the story of Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they battle Kraven the Hunter and the Venom symbiote, which threatens both New York and their lives.

Many consider it a big loss for Sony that their exclusive is now available on PC on Steam, but the company itself does not respond to such comments or to the release of the game port itself.
