Resident Evil Veronica Possible Release Window Revealed

Capcom's next release in the Resident Evil series will be a remake of the 2000 game Code Veronica, which will be titled simply Resident Evil Veronica. It has been confirmed that the project will be released in 2027; although the exact release date remains unknown, a reliable group of insiders has reported on the release window for the upcoming game.

As noted by X social media users, Team Biohazard, a well-known group of Resident Evil insiders, has revealed the approximate release window for the Code Veronica remake. A new post on its Facebook page states that Resident Evil Veronica will release in the second quarter of 2027—that is, between April 1 and June 30. This is generally in line with the franchise’s release schedule; for instance, Resident Evil Village was released in May of 2021, and the Resident Evil 3 remake came out in April of 2020.

The rumored release time frame is close enough to the usual time Capcom released Resident Evil games in the last several years, especially taking in consideration how stacked February is, which means it’s best to push forward just a bit.

Recently, the first alleged gameplay footage of Resident Evil Veronica also surfaced. The video is only 6 seconds long, but it shows Claire Redfield exploring Rockfort Island. It remains unclear whether the video is from an actual build of the game or if it was generated using AI. Either way, since Capcom hasn’t revealed anything yet, such leaks shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

It’s also known that Capcom is officially working on a story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth installment that was released this February. A recent report by Dusk Golem confirmed that the DLC is scheduled for release in the second half of 2027, so fans of the franchise should get ready for a long and exciting journey.

Resident Evil Veronica is confirmed to release in 2027 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. The exact release date is currently unknown.
