Xbox Games Showcase 2026 – What Games Could Be Revealed and Announced
The first week of summer turned out to be hot not only in terms of weather but also regarding the turmoil unfolding in the gaming industry. Thanks to events like State of Play and Summer Game Fest, held on June 2nd and 5th, respectively, a multitude of new projects were announced, including God of War: Laufey, Until Dawn 2, Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Resident Evil Veronica, and many others—and that’s just the beginning.
Tonight, another major gaming presentation from Microsoft, the Xbox Games Showcase, is set to take place. It's expected to be just as entertaining—if not more so—than State of Play and Summer Game Fest when it comes to showcasing both new and familiar titles. Below, you'll find information about the games that have long been rumored and could potentially be revealed or officially announced during today's event.
Fallout 3 Remake

While insiders have pointed to a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica as the most likely announcement at Summer Game Fest, the anticipated highlight for the Xbox Games Showcase is probably an updated version of Fallout 3. It remains unclear whether this will be a remaster or a full remake, but Bethesda is definitely working on an enhanced version of their 2008 RPG. Insider Jez Corden has recently teased multiple times the game's upcoming reveal— first by stating that the Fallout 3 Remake is expected to launch in 2027 and later suggesting a possible showcase during the Xbox Games Showcase in his recent blog.
Metro 2039

In April of this year, 4A Games announced Metro 2039, and a full reveal took place at the Xbox event, Xbox First Look. Since the game is set to be released this winter— and a recent leak suggested it will launch in February next year —the developers might share a new trailer for the highly anticipated shooter, possibly confirming the exact release date.
Wolfenstein 3
Rumors have long circulated that MachineGames is working on the third installment of the Wolfenstein shooter. Earlier this year, the first story details emerged, confirming the return of William “B.J.” Blazkowicz, along with new characters—specifically, a Ukrainian orphan named Sofiya and her dog, Ralph. Jez Corden also shared his thoughts on the potential release of Wolfenstein 3 and MachineGames’ multiplayer shooter in his aforementioned blog.
It's also worth noting the words of insider NateTheHate, who revealed that Bethesda is developing remastered versions of Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus. This is not only in anticipation of the upcoming third installment but also in preparation for the launch of a new TV series based on the franchise, aiming to reach as wide an audience as possible within the universe.
DLC for DOOM: The Dark Ages
Given that the DLC for DOOM: The Dark Ages is officially in development, but id Software has yet to share any major details about the expansion, the Xbox Games Showcase could be the perfect opportunity to reveal more. This is especially likely considering that the original game was announced during the Xbox Games Showcase back in 2024. Regarding the DLC, id Software representatives have previously stated that its scale is comparable to a full-fledged sequel rather than just a simple expansion. Among some known details, it will feature the quick-swapping mechanic and bring back Darin DePaul—who voiced Samuel in Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal, as well as Kreed in Doom: The Dark Ages.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope

In March of this year, during another Microsoft event, Xbox Partners Preview, a new DLC for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl was announced, titled Cost of Hope. It was confirmed that the expansion will launch this summer simultaneously across all platforms (PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5), although the exact release date remains unknown. To keep with tradition, the DLC might be featured again during an Xbox presentation, where GSC Game World could not only reveal the release date but also showcase new gameplay footage.
Forza Horizon 6 PS5 Release Date
Forza Horizon 6 has undoubtedly been the biggest Xbox release this year, launching on PC and Xbox Series X/S. However, its release date for PlayStation 5 is still unknown. It was expected that this information might be revealed during the State of Play event on June 2, but that didn’t happen. The Xbox Games Showcase could actually be an even more suitable platform for the announcement, especially since Playground Games might also share some future plans, given that the studio has already confirmed they are working on DLC.
Persona 6 + Persona 4 Revival

One of the most talked-about franchises in the context of the Xbox Games Showcase is the Persona series, as there is a chance that at least two new projects will be announced during the event. The first is Persona 6, which insider NateTheHate recently mentioned, stating he is "confident the game will be revealed" at the Xbox Games Showcase. In addition to that, there might also be a reveal of Persona 4 Revival—a full remake of the fourth installment— teased by a recently released teaser and leaked artwork. Either way, even if just one of these projects is showcased at the Xbox Games Showcase, it will be a celebration for all fans of the series.
Halo: Campaign Evolved

Another remake that will very likely be featured at the Xbox Games Showcase is Halo: Campaign Evolved, a remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved. The franchise is one of Xbox’s flagship titles, so it would be odd not to showcase it at their presentation—especially considering that a pre-order bonus list was recently leaked, and recent rumors suggest the release is planned for the end of July.
Activision/Elsewhere Entertainment Title

Like id Software, Activision also enjoys showcasing their projects at Microsoft presentations, but this time the focus isn’t on Call of Duty. Instead, attention turns to a new game from the studio Elsewhere Entertainment. Work on this ambitious project, whose title remains unknown, has been ongoing for quite some time. It’s being described as a potential rival to Grand Theft Auto and Cyberpunk 2077. Reports indicate that the game will feature a massive open world as well as PvE multiplayer, and the Xbox Games Showcase could be the event where we get our first glimpse of this new project.
Bonus: The Elder Scrolls VI
Although The Elder Scrolls VI already somewhat resembles Half-Life 3—a game everyone is waiting for but with an unclear release date—it differs in that it has at least been confirmed. No matter how hard Todd Howard tries to advise players to forget about the existence of The Elder Scrolls VI, with major events like the Xbox Games Showcase, it’s difficult to accept or hope that a game might suddenly emerge out of nowhere.
It's worth revisiting the words of Dez Corden, who recently mentioned in his blog that he doesn't expect The Elder Scrolls VI or Fallout 5 to appear at the Xbox Games Showcase, as these games won't be released within the next 12 months. However, what’s stopping Bethesda from at least making a statement about the sixth Elder Scrolls? They could share information about the development timeline, the current stage of the game, or when they might be able to reveal more. Fans would appreciate a gesture from the studio confirming that The Elder Scrolls VI is still alive and that they just need a bit more time before sharing new details. That’s far better than simply saying, "Forget about it," which only fuels speculation that something is clearly wrong with the project.
