Former GTA Developers Reveal Beastlink, a Massive Kaiju Multiplayer Game with Fully Destructible Cities
A new multiplayer title called Beastlink has officially been revealed, bringing large-scale battles, giant Kaiju, and fully destructible cities into one chaotic experience. The game is being developed by Grove Street Games, the studio known for working on ports of Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and San Andreas.
While the studio is often associated with Rockstar projects, Beastlink marks a major shift into original game development.
A World Ruled by Kaiju
Set in a post-apocalyptic future, Beastlink takes place in a world where humanity survives inside fortified strongholds while colossal Kaiju dominate the planet. At the center of the conflict is a mysterious technology capable of linking humans with these massive creatures.
Players battle across destructible cities in matches supporting up to 32 players, competing to collect a special serum that allows them to connect with nearby Kaiju. Each creature features its own combat abilities and playstyle, ranging from agile airborne hunters to brutal close-range destroyers.
Massive Destruction and Multiple Playstyles
One of the game’s biggest features is its advanced destruction system. Using what the developers call “SuperDestruction” technology, nearly every structure in the environment can be demolished in real time.
As humans, players can fight on foot or support teammates using vehicles. Those who successfully link with a Kaiju gain access to devastating powers capable of leveling entire city blocks and reshaping the battlefield.
According to the official Steam page, Beastlink will feature:
- Fully destructible, physics-based environments
- Large-scale multiplayer battles for up to 32 players
- Multiple active Kaiju per match
- Different game modes, including solo options
- Expanding maps that evolve through destruction
- A growing roster of unique Kaiju with distinct abilities
- Story elements exploring the collapse of civilization and humanity’s survival

Early Access Launch Planned for 2026
Grove Street Games previously confirmed plans to release a new title in 2026, and Beastlink appears to be that project. The game is expected to enter Steam Early Access later this summer, with the first closed beta weekend beginning on May 8.
The developers plan to use player feedback to refine the destruction systems and large-scale gameplay before launch.
A Fresh Start for Grove Street Games
Beastlink also represents an important moment for Grove Street Games following criticism surrounding Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition. Despite that controversial release, the studio previously handled several Rockstar ports over the years with far less backlash.
Now, Beastlink gives the team an opportunity to move beyond remasters and establish itself with an original project. With fully destructible environments and large-scale Kaiju combat becoming increasingly rare in modern multiplayer games, Beastlink could potentially fill a unique space in the genre if the execution delivers.
