Insider Reveals Another Look at Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe Protagonist

Ubisoft is actively developing the next main installment in its most famous franchise—Assassin's Creed. The new game is subtitled “Codename Hexe,” and despite the announcement in 2022, it still has no confirmed release date, and its official details remain under wraps.

For his part, xJ0nathan, a well-known franchise insider, shared a new image from Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe; it shows Anika, the game's protagonist, although the image is quite blurry. Additionally, Reddit users have noted that the game uses the same UI as Assassin's Creed Shadows and Black Flag Resynced. A less blurry image, apparently generated using AI, has also appeared. Both images are available below:

Very blurry indeed.

Late last month, Ubisoft published a new blog post dedicated to the future of Assassin's Creed. Speaking about “Codename Hexe,” the developers confirmed that work on the game is ongoing and that more information will be revealed next year. Additionally, the studio confirmed they are not currently working on any new remakes, though they have not ruled out the possibility in the future.

The events of Assassin's Creed: Codename Hexe take place in 16th-century Germany; the main protagonist is a young woman named Anika, who, as previously reported, is a descendant of Claudia Auditore, Ezio's sister. Initially, the game featured magical elements, but these were removed during development to emphasize realism. Additionally, according to an insider, Anika will have the ability to intimidate, similar to how Jack the Ripper did in the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate DLC. Last month, MP1st also provided detailed information about other characters in Codename Hexe.
