Ubisoft Revealed News About the Future of Assassin’s Creed Brand

Earlier this week, Ubisoft confirmed its plans to share details about the future of the Assassin's Creed brand but warned fans in advance not to expect any major updates. The new article provides a general overview of the projects that have already been confirmed, as well as touching on the topic of remakes of older games and a Netflix series adaptation.

Jean Guesdon, Head of Content, shared news about the future of Assassin's Creed in a separate video, and there is also a text version. Of course, lots of fans want to hear more about Codename Hexe—the next main installment in the series, which was announced back in 2022. According to Guesdon, we’ll learn a lot about the game next year—rumor says it’s scheduled for release in the second half of 2027. Work is also continuing on Codename Invictus, the franchise’s multiplayer title, though no details have been revealed yet. However, despite the success of Black Flag Resynced, Ubisoft is not currently developing any other remakes of older titles in the franchise. The studio’s priority is new projects, but the developers are definitely exploring all possible options in this regard. In other news, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will soon receive a New Game+ mode, and filming for the Netflix series based on the franchise is nearing completion.

Also this week, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced received its final update—version 1.0.8 —which added the New Game+ mode and Nightmare mode as well as new animations taken from the original 2013 game and new hidden chests containing costumes, accessories, and other items. The project’s game director hinted the game might receive a story DLC dedicated to Edward Kenway’s new adventures—but it seems that, for now, this isn’t on the agenda.
