Actor Seemingly Teases New Mafia Prequel to Be Announced Soon

Last year, Hangar 13 released Mafia: The Old Country—a prequel to the entire franchise that set the story in Sicily and included numerous references to other games in the series. It appears that another project may be announced soon, one that will serve as a prequel to the first game in the franchise.

As noted by franchise insider Wiseguy Central, Glenn Taranto, who plays Ennio Salieri, hinted on social media that there may be an announcement coming soon related to the Mafia universe. Fans speculate this could be another DLC for The Old Country; given that the young Salieri has already appeared in one of them, Hangar 13 may want to show an even younger version of him set before the main game’s events or perhaps make a prequel to Mafia: Definitive Edition, featuring the future don already in Lost Heaven.

Glenn Taranto (Don Salieri) says something Mafia Game related could be dropping soon.

There have also been recent speculations that Mafia 2: Definitive Edition will become available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S next month. However, Glenn Taranto’s announcement is unlikely to be related to this, since Salieri is not connected to the events of the second title. Additionally, Hangar 13 is reportedly working on a full-fledged sequel to Mafia: The Old Country set in Empire Bay, as well as a Mafia 2 remake on Unreal Engine 5.
