In addition to a more streamlined progression experience, the update brings a Trophy Road expansion, a revamped economy, and the long-awaited Level 16 cards. Here’s a full breakdown of what’s coming.

2v2 League, Holiday Events, and a “Heroic” Tease

Before diving into progression changes, let’s look at the new content on the horizon.Supercell is introducing a 2v2 League, finally giving duos a proper competitive framework. The Evolution Box is also being expanded, making it easier for players to earn Evolutions without relying on luck.

Seasonal content is about to get festive with a brand-new Clashmas event and themed Seasonal Lucky Chests. Trophy Road will receive a full rework as well. And while details are scarce, Supercell has hinted at something truly “heroic” that could reshape gameplay in a major way.

A Complete Progression Overhaul

Over the years, Clash Royale’s progression has become increasingly complicated, with Books, Magic Coins, and Elite Wild Cards all serving overlapping purposes. The November update aims to declutter these systems. The goal is to make card upgrades straightforward, consistent, and more rewarding—no more confusion about which resource to use and when.

Goodbye, Elite Wild Cards

Elite Wild Cards are officially being removed from the game. While they were originally designed to make high-level progression more accessible, they often felt slow and unrewarding. After the update, any Elite Wild Cards you own will automatically convert into Gems, which can be used directly in the Shop to purchase specific cards. This makes the system far more transparent and flexible.

To prepare players for this shift, Elite Wild Cards have already been removed from Trophy Road and Ranked rewards.

Farewell to Books and Magic Coins

Supercell is also phasing out other redundant progression items. Here’s how your resources will convert:

  • Books → Wild Cards
  • Magic Coins → Gold
  • Book of Books → Gems

Conversion rates will scale based on your King Tower Level, ensuring that higher-level players receive fair value. This system is designed to preserve the effort you’ve already invested while adjusting to the new, simplified economy.

Introducing Level 16

With Elite Levels gone, Clash Royale is introducing a cleaner new milestone: Level 16.This level targets players who have already maxed out their decks, but it comes with reduced card and Gold requirements, making progression smoother than before.

According to Supercell, reaching Level 16 will feel as natural as hitting Level 14 once did.For Ranked battles, the cap will stay at Level 15 until May 2026, giving everyone time to catch up before higher-level cards enter the competitive scene.

Once your cards hit Level 16, any extra copies will automatically convert into Crystals — a new currency that unlocks cosmetic rewards, including exclusive emotes and visual effects.

Trophy Road Expansion and Ranked Updates

The Trophy Road is getting its biggest expansion yet, with the maximum cap rising to 12,000 Trophies. Four new Arenas will be added between 10,000 and 12,000 Trophies, each offering fresh milestones and unique rewards to keep the climb exciting.

Ranked play will also become more accessible. Instead of completing the entire Trophy Road first, you’ll unlock Ranked mode as soon as you reach the seasonal Trophy threshold — allowing players to jump into competitive matches sooner than ever before.
