Nacon Is Still Working on Terminator: Survivors Despite Publisher’s Financial Problems

Over the last few years, we’ve seen a few video games based on The Terminator franchise—specifically Terminator: Resistance, developed by Teyon, and last year’s Terminator 2D: NO FATE, created by Bitmap Bureau. There is at least one new project about the war between the machines and humans—Terminator: Survivors, which has its own story of development.

Developed by Nacon Studio Milan, initially Terminator: Survivor was planned as a survival multiplayer title; however, last year the developers announced it will now be a single-player adventure. The project was also postponed indefinitely, and some of the fans were worried the game could even be cancelled, as Nacon, the publisher of Terminator: Survivor, is having serious financial problems. Nevertheless, Nacon Studio Milan has some updated information about Terminator: Survivors. The developers have released a statement on Steam in which they revealed the game is still in development and there are no current plans to abandon the project. “Terminator: Survivors has been a passion project for us at the studio, and we’re excited to finally be looking forward to sharing that work — but, while we were blocking out our calendar, it occurred to us that most of you don’t actually know who we are yet, either.

By now, we know you’re eager to hear more about Terminator: Survivors, and we’re pretty keen to show it to you, too — but you’ll have to wait just a little while longer before we can start rolling things out.”

Nacon Studio Milan also presented a couple of new shots from Terminator: Survivors and stated they are focusing on three main features in the game’s development: open world, story, and design. At the same time, Nacon has recently postponed NACON Connect —a presentation where the studio’s upcoming projects were set to be revealed. Unfortunately, the decision about the delay is related to the above-mentioned financial situation of the publisher; although the time is not easy for the company, Nacon confirmed, “This is not the end".

Except for Terminator: Survivors, Nacon is serving as the publisher of such upcoming titles as Gear. Club Unlimited 3, Hunting Simulator 3, Edge of Memories, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, and Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss—and only the last one is having a release date.
