The Last of Us TV Series Casts Patrick Wilson as Abby’s Father
The production of HBO’s The Last of Us TV has officially started this month, and it will last till November, with the release date being eyed for 2027. We haven’t heard much about the show over the past few months, but the latest update may reveal a new cast member.
According to industry insider Jeff Sneider, Patrick Wilson, who is well-known for the roles of Ed Warren and Josh Lamber in The Conjuring and Insidious franchises, respectively, has been cast in the upcoming The Last of Us third season. Moreover, he’s very likely to play Jerry Anderson, the father of Abby, played by Kaitlyn Dever, who will be the lead character in the upcoming season, not Ellie (Bella Ramsey). So far, HBO hasn’t confirmed the casting of Patrick Wilson, so this report should be considered with a grain of salt.
There are speculations that the upcoming third season of The Last of Us show could be the last; it was teased by HBO boss Casey Bloys, but previously the showrunner of The Last of Us, Craig Mazin, revealed The Last of Us needs a fourth season as it’s "essential to bring the conclusion".
Naughty Dog, the developers of The Last of Us game series, is also rumored to be working on The Last of Us: Part III; Neil Druckmann, the head of Naughty Dog, confirmed he has some ideas for the third installment, but the studio hasn’t confirmed the game yet.
