Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Delayed to Next Year
Bad news for Marvel fans. Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra — a joint adventure starring Captain America and Black Panther, written by Uncharted creator Amy Hennig and developed by Skydance Games — has been delayed to early 2026.
In an official statement shared on social media, the studio explained that they need more time to bring the game to its final polished state. “Taking this additional time will allow us to improve the game and make sure it lives up to our vision and the expectations of players,” Skydance Games stated. “We have some exciting things in store and look forward to sharing more soon.”
Originally, the game was scheduled for a late 2024 release, with Black Panther voice actor Khary Payton hinting at a holiday season launch.
The story trailer for Marvel 1943 was revealed during the State of Unreal livestream in March 2024. At the time, Amy Hennig emphasized that the use of MetaHuman technology allowed them to faithfully capture and recreate the actors’ performances in digital form.
Additionally, new details were unveiled at the end of last year, including the first look at the 1943 version of Wakanda. “We wanted to do a lot of interesting things,” Hennig said. “For example, showing Steve Rogers at the beginning of his journey, still trying to find his place. And introducing a brand-new Black Panther during World War II.”
Let’s hope the delay pays off — and that we’ll get to experience something truly outstanding when the game finally launches.
