eFootball 2026 v5.2.0 Update Brings Massive Overhaul: New Events, Features & Gameplay Changes

Konami is rolling out the v5.2.0 update for eFootball 2026, and it’s easily one of the most substantial updates the game has received in recent months. The patch expands campaign content, introduces new event types, adjusts gameplay balance, adds new systems, and brings several quality-of-life upgrades. Campaigns and Events

December is packed with overlapping events, making it one of the busiest months of the year for eFootball players.

FIFAe World Cup 25 Campaign

The FIFAe World Cup 25 event sets the stage with new Special Player Lists, guaranteed Show Time players, and a limited-time Campaign Hub that functions as an event shop. Players can exchange earned currencies for items, boosters, managers, and other valuable materials.

African Cup of Nations Campaign

Running alongside it is the AFCON campaign, spotlighting stars such as Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané, and Victor Osimhen. By completing event objectives, players can earn the Legendary Epic El-Hadji Diouf.

Festive Season Campaigns

Starting December 18, a holiday-themed event arrives, headlined by Epic Oliver Kahn, who comes with a brand-new Show Time GK skill called Spirit Roar. Additional festive selections will also be available.

The CONNECT 30th Anniversary Campaign begins during this period as well. Players can submit ideas for future Nominating Contracts, and new Special Player Lists from the Brazilian League will gradually roll out. Several new legends will also debut as part of the anniversary celebration.

New Event Types

Two fresh event formats are arriving in December.

Restricted Squad Event — December 4, 2025

This event limits players you used in your previous victory, forcing you to rotate your squad and avoid relying on the same starting eleven repeatedly.

Tour Rally Event — December 18, 2025

Tour Rally challenges players to earn points by completing specific match objectives — scoring goals, winning duels, making headers, and more.

New Match Analysis System

A fully new Match Analysis tool has been added, allowing players to review the last ten PvP matches. The system generates charts that reveal your style of play, including how often you sprint, finesse dribble, or commit to defensive actions.

Defensive tendencies such as pressing, matching-up, and positional movement are also tracked. The ability to compare your stats with players from other divisions makes the feature even more useful for self-improvement.

Real-Time Advice & Expanded AI Control

During matches, eFootball now monitors your inputs and can trigger contextual comments or advice from players or managers. At halftime or full-time, the game provides deeper feedback with visual examples. Konami has not yet confirmed whether these prompts can be disabled.

The AI Control feature has been expanded, allowing you to delegate specific, high-difficulty moments to the AI and step in only when direct control is most impactful.

Updated Booster Crafting System

Booster crafting receives a major upgrade. Players can now create twelve new booster types, including Accuracy, Regista, and Ball Protector.Random Booster Tokens have been improved as well — they now draw from a pool of fifteen boosters, tailored to the player’s registered position.

New Managers: Ronald Koeman & Gennaro Gattuso

After appearing as a player, Ronald Koeman arrives as a new manager, bringing a brand-new tactical approach called Aggressive Centering A. His manager pack includes two highlight players and a fully modeled 3D appearance.

A new pack featuring David Beckham and Jan Koller is also on the way, built around the new tactical system.Gennaro Gattuso joins the game as well, available through the FIFAe World Cup 25 campaign, though his tactical details remain under wraps for now.

Gameplay Adjustments

Through balls have undergone significant rebalancing. Konami has refined defending mechanics so these passes behave more realistically. The sprint speed gap between players has been narrowed, stamina has a gentler effect on acceleration, and defensive awareness now influences acceleration as well.

New Goal Celebrations

Several new goal celebrations have been added. These animations trigger automatically under specific conditions, such as scoring a long-range strike or converting a clean first-time finish.
