Tournament Format

Just like last year, the 2026 season will be built around two main pillars:

  • eFootball Championship Club Events
  • eFootball Championship Open

This setup gives both professional players and casual fans the chance to compete and climb through the ranks.

Club Events

The Club Events return in a familiar format, featuring KONAMI’s official partner clubs such as FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Manchester United.

Each Club Event kicks off with four online qualifiers divided by regions:

  • Europe & Africa
  • Americas
  • Asia (West)
  • Asia (East)
  • Oceania & Other Regions

Winners from these qualifiers will move on to the Club Finals, where the very best will earn the honor of representing their clubs at the World Finals in Summer 2026.

eFootball Championship Open

The Open tournament keeps its classic format and remains accessible to all players worldwide. While KONAMI hasn’t revealed every detail yet, it is expected to follow the same structure as 2025 — starting with multiple qualifiers across PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Mobile, before narrowing down to Mobile and PlayStation in the later stages.

Regional winners will also qualify for the World Finals, where they will compete for the ultimate championship title.

Schedule

The 2026 season has already begun, starting with the FC Barcelona Club Event. Rounds 1 and 2 are currently underway and will wrap up on September 24, 2025. Additional Club Events from other partner teams will follow in the coming months.

Although the full schedule has not been released, if it mirrors the 2025 season, fans can expect several qualifying rounds throughout the year, culminating in the World Finals around July 2026.

Prize Pool

KONAMI has yet to announce the prize pool for 2026. For reference, the 2025 season awarded $20,000 each to the Mobile and Console champions, with payouts extending to the top 16 players. A similar structure is expected this year, and updates will be provided once details are confirmed.
