Weekly CS:GO News Digest (dev1ce leaves NIP, f0rest returns to fnatic and more)
Not the most eventful week has ended in terms of big championships and high-profile victories, but even without that, the teams managed to stir up the scene with some notable returns, transfers and news. We propose to recall the past week for the most high-profile news from the world of CS:GO.
dev1ce leaving Ninjas in Pajamas?
It looks like dev1ce is getting ready to leave the Ninjas in Pajamas team for good. During a pre-match interview at the recent Global Esports Tour Dubai 2022, the interim captain of the Swedish team ztr was very categorical when asked about the future of Ninjas in Pajamas. During the conversation, the young Swede honestly spoke about the imminent departure of dev1ce from the team.
It's obvious that dev1ce's departure will be detrimental to the team because he's a great player.
Talk about the future of dev1ce began at the end of last year, when the 26-year-old Danish sniper left the Ninjas in Pajamas starting lineup and took a break.
Six months have passed since then, as well as Ritz himself has not appeared in the Ninjas in Pajamas. More recently, news about the imminent return of the Danish sniper to Astralis has resurfaced, as reported by analysts Pimp and Thorin.
It seems that dev1ce never managed to realize his ambitions, but once he wanted to take the Swedish team to the top of Olympus.
f0rest returns to fnatic after 12 years
At the beginning of the week, the British esports organization fnatic officially announced the signing of a short-term contract with f0rest — the legendary Swede returned to the eminent team after 12 years.
Together with the f0rest team, he already managed to play in the Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022, where he failed to make it to the playoffs. And if at the start of the tournament fnatic unexpectedly outplayed Heroic, then after that the team lost to BIG and Heroic, leaving the event.
However, this story deserves to be continued. Recall that f0rest has already represented the colors of the British organization in the past, having spent four years in the team. Between 2006 and 2010, the Swedish esportsman helped the team win Intel Extreme Masters III, IEM IV Global Challenge Dubai and World Esports Masters 2009, among others, and also made the tag one of the strongest in the esports scene.
Star boy returned to CS:GO
British esports organization EndPoint on Tuesday signed a contract with Kjaerbye. There have been talks about the return of the star boy for some time, as well as Kjaerbye himself managed to play for the team in the open qualifiers for ESL Challenger at DreamHack Valencia 2022.
It is difficult to soberly assess the prospects of the 24-year-old Dane now. But apparently, he still regrets his departure from Astralis in 2018, at a time when all of Denmark idolized him.
Of course, after leaving the camp of the champions of the major, the young talent did not have a career, and in the future Kjaerbye only had time to change clubs. At the same time, last summer the Dane decided to suspend his career in order, as he himself says, to rethink a lot and return to Counter-Strike with renewed vigor.
mir returns to the stage after six months
An equally high-profile return happened on the expanses of the CIS scene, as the Czech club Entropiq signed mir to the team. The 26-year-old Russian cybersportsman replaced Lack1, who was the founder of the original team.
mir was rightfully considered one of the strongest riflers in the CIS. Having made a name for himself back in the days of playing for Vega Squadron and sensational victories in the Major as part of the Russian club, the 26-year-old player has spent the last two years in Team Spirit.
However, last fall, Nikolai unexpectedly left the team, thereby taking a break from his competitive career. Nevertheless, mir returned to the big game, making his debut for Entropiq. True, it did not turn out very well, since the team flew out of REPUBLEAGUE Season 3.
Team Spirit says goodbye to degster
Already at the weekend, the Russian eSports club Team Spirit said goodbye to degster. The decision came as a real shock to many fans of the team, since it was Abdul who was one of the best snipers in the CIS.
Nevertheless, Team Spirit explained its decision by the difference in views on the construction of the training process and the future of the team itself. The player himself clarified and commented on his parting with the club.
There is a lot of talk about my parting with Team Spirit and I would like to give a specific comment on this. The organization wants all players to be in Serbia for at least 9 months a year. However, for a number of personal reasons, I could not guarantee that this condition would be met. In addition, my girlfriend is in Moscow and we needed more time to move to another country in order to resolve all issues and the most important question, do we want to live in Serbia at all. It was a mutual decision, due solely to personal reasons, without any political overtones.
degster has represented the colors of Team Spirit for the past year and a half. At the same time, quite recently, a 20-year-old player reached the semi-finals of PGL Major Antwerp 2022 with the team. By the way, there have already been rumors that degster will play for OG at the upcoming BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2022 - all that remains is to wait for the official announcement, well, or refutation.
Heroic in talks to sign Jabbi
According to sporttv2dk, Danish eSports organization Heroic is close to signing a contract with Jabbi. The 18-year-old Dane is expected to take the place of refrez.
Part of the Copenhagen Flames roster has already been torn to pieces - nicoodoz and roeJ joined the ranks of fnatic, while Daniel Forborg left the organization in search of a new challenge. Now the team is preparing to sell their next star, this time to Heroic.
jabbi has spent the last two years with the Copenhagen Flames. Together with the team, the 18-year-old Dane became the winner of Malta Vibes Knockout Series #4, Pelaajat.com Nordic Masters: Spring 2022 and PGL Major Antwerp 2022: European RMR B, and also took second place at Elisa Invitational Fall 2021, Pinnacle Winter Series # 3 and Pinnacle Cup III.
Probably, with this transfer, the management of the Danish club intends to refresh the squad, which has ceased to please its fans with big victories, except for the last Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022.
JW and flusha revive the legendary EYEBALLERS tag
On Thursday, the legendary organization EYEBALLERS announced their return to CS:GO by signing the Hellslayerz team. Now JW and flusha will run for the once powerful club, as well as a trio of young players from Sweden.
The legendary Swedish tag EYEBALLERS was founded in 1998, but 10 years later. During the existence of the team from the achievements we can note the victory at CPL Summer 2004, as well as reaching the final at CPL Winter 2004.
At the same time, JW and flusha themselves became co-founders of the organization, taking on the responsibility of objecting to the popular team. The comments of the new owners of the "brand" were not lost either.
We are thrilled to bring EYEBALLERS back and use the team as a platform to grow Swedish Counter-Strike and help new talent grow. Our long-term vision is to bring back the legacy brand and make the Swedish fans proud of us again.
Note that the debut of the former Fnatic stars under the wing of the new club turned out to be successful - experienced Swedes have already won the Svenska Elitserien Spring 2022.
Heroic won the first major LAN tournament in its history
On Saturday, the Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022 came to an end, the champion of which was the Heroic team. In the grand final of the tournament, Xizt's wards confidently dealt with Astralis with a score of 2:0 and earned $150,000. It is not so much the fact of the team's victory in the grand final that is remarkable, but the path that the Danes have traveled for this triumph.
Previously, Heroic has already won big championships with the participation of well-known opponents, but the team has never submitted a LAN tournament. Now, cadiaN has finally closed his gestalt, which he will certainly not forget to mention in the next skirmish with gla1ve on Twitter.
