Official: f0rest joins fnatic as a stand-in

British esports organization fnatic has officially announced the signing of a short-term contract with f0rest. It is reported that the legend of the Swedish Counter-Strike will help the team in the upcoming Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022, acting as a stand-in.

We are thrilled to welcome f0rest back to the Black and Orange camp as a stand-in at the upcoming Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022. Patrick last played for fnatic in 2006-2010 helping us cement our legacy in CS 1.6.

Rumors about a fifth fnatic player have been circulating for the last week. Immediately after the announcement of the signing of nicoodoz and roeJ, many only assumed who would close the problematic fifth position and help the team in the upcoming championship. A few hours ago, the organization made an opaque hint, giving fans a clear answer to a burning question.

f0rest has represented the colors of the British organization in the past, having spent four years with the team. Between 2006 and 2010, the 33-year-old Swedish esportsman helped the team win Intel Extreme Masters III, IEM IV Global Challenge Dubai and World Esports Masters 2009, among others, and also made the tag one of the strongest in the esports scene.

f0rest spent the last years of his career with Dignitas, where he never achieved fame. In two seasons, the Swedish veteran was remembered for victories at the Elisa Invitational Spring 2020, BLAST Nordic Masters: Spring 2021 and BLAST Nordic Masters: Fall 2021, but missed all the major championships. As a result, Dignitas disbanded the roster, effectively putting the career of the 33-year-old Swede in question.

f0rest will help fnatic in the upcoming Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022 starting tomorrow, June 8th. In the first match of the championship, the team will play with Heroic.

The Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022 will be the culmination of over two years of events supported by Pinnacle in partnership with GRID Esports. The tournament will be held from 8 to 11 June in the Swedish city of Lund. The venue for the event will be the Sparbanken Skåne Arena, while participants will compete for a combined prize pool of $250,000.
