AREA may lead Team Liquid

According to insider George Geddes, European esports organization Team Liquid tested AREA for the position of head coach of their team VALORANT in order to replace the recently departed Sliggy. The club will make a final decision on the appointment of a French specialist in the near future.

AREA was known as one of the top shooters in French Counter-Strike during the first few years of Global Offensive, where he fell into infamy. The Frenchman also became famous for his strong aim, in some ways causing parallels with ScreaM.

However, AREA did not reach the peak of his professional career and turned down the opportunity to play for LDLC in 2013, which raised suspicion as many accused the Frenchman of using cheats. Moreover, in 2013, his Steam account received a VAC ban, but he denied the use of auxiliary programs. As AREA himself stated, he turned down the offer to move to LDLC due to lack of motivation.

AREA has already been practicing alongside Team Liquid in VALORANT as a head coach just a few weeks after Sliggy's departure.

Recall that Sliggy led Team Liquid in the middle of 2020. During this time, the British specialist helped the team win VCT 2021: EMEA Stage 2 Challengers Finals, VCT 2021: Europe Stage 3 Challengers 2, VCT 2021: EMEA Last Chance Qualifier and Red Bull Home Ground #2.

Team Liquid continues their performances as part of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: EMEA Stage 2 Challengers. Based on the results of the three rounds played, the European team is in third place, having two wins and one loss.
