A Surprise Decision for Team Liquid

The decision comes as a surprise, given that Team Liquid recently reached the grand final of the VCT EMEA Kickoff event. Kamyk, who previously had a brief stint with Fnatic in 2023, joined Liquid in January after an outstanding year in VCL France with Joblife.

His time in the French league was highly successful, helping Joblife secure both seasonal titles. His transition to the top-tier VCT EMEA—alongside former JL head coach Ivo "LohaN" Albino—was seen as a natural step forward by analysts and fans alike.

International Debut & Liquid’s Performance

After falling to the lower bracket early in the VCT EMEA Kickoff, Team Liquid put together an impressive lower bracket run to reach the grand final. Despite their momentum, they suffered a reverse sweep against Vitality (2-3), settling for a runner-up finish.

Although the loss was disappointing, Liquid still qualified for Masters Bangkok, marking their first international event of the season and kamyk’s debut on the global stage. However, the team struggled in the Swiss Stage, finishing in 5th-6th place without advancing further.
