Microsoft Might Hold Unexpected Gaming Presentation This Month
Amid rumors that PlayStation is reportedly planning to hold another State of Play event on April 16—which has not yet been confirmed—reports have emerged that its competitor, Microsoft, is considering striking back by hosting its own gaming showcase this month.
We know that Microsoft will hold a new Xbox Games Showcase on June 7, but according to Windows Central’s Jez Corden, the company also may organize a small gaming show this month for Xbox fans. He revealed this during the latest Septic Sauce podcast, and you can check out his words below:
“There might be something Xbox fans might want to tune into as well, maybe. Xbox might have a little something next week as well. Their own show. A little show.”
At this moment, Microsoft or Xbox hasn’t revealed any plans to arrange some special show amid rumors about State of Play - in fact, Sony hasn't confirmed such plans either. But there are proofs State of Play might take place on April 16. According to the latest rumors, on this day we will see a full-scale announcement of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, the remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and a new Metro video game, as well. PlayStation’s State of Play seems like the right platform for presenting such large-scale projects.
Speaking of Microsoft’s gaming event, there are also rumors that the company might release Project Helix, their next-generation console, this year, not in 2027 as was previously reported. That is why this presentation might actually take place in April.
