GTA 6: All Confirmed Information

Grand Theft Auto VI is obviously the most anticipated video game of 2026, and, perhaps, one of the most anticipated titles in history. With each Grand Theft Auto release, Rockstar Games has raised the bar to another level in all possible ways, starting from the scale of open world, graphics, character’s development etc. Considering that we previously saw in the trailers of Grand Theft Auto VI, there is an idea the game could be the biggest video game yet, and no other developers will be able to match it.

Less than 9 months remains until the release of GTA VI, and here you can find out everything we know about the game so far.

When Does GTA 6 Come Out?

Grand Theft Auto VI - Everything We Know So Far 1

As confirmed by Take-Two's recent financial report, Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on November 19, 2026 despite the rumors the game could be postponed once again. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has confirmed GTA VI is not going to be delayed, and November 19 is locked in as the game’s official release date. Initially, the game was released in May 2025, but last November Rockstar announced they moved on the GTA VI’s release up to one year.

Which Platforms Will Grand Theft Auto VI be Released On?

At this time, Grand Theft Auto VI is confirmed to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Although Rockstar Games hasn’t confirmed whether the game will be available on PC, the experience of previous GTA installments can’t lay - Grand Theft Auto VI will definitely be released on PC, probably, a year or year in half after the release on consoles. According to gaming insider Tom Henderson, the PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI will release in autumn of 2027; though, there are no words from Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive yet about the PC version of GTA VI.

There were some speculations Grand Theft Auto VI might be released at Nintendo Switch 2 as well, however, Rockstar Games and Take-Two haven’t spoken of this directly.

GTA 6 PC Version: Release Date

As for now, Grand Theft Auto VI is confirmed to release only on consoles - PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S - on November 19. However, there's no doubt that Rockstar Games will definitely release a PC version of the game: as has been the case with previous games in the series, this could take six months to a year after the console release.

Moreover, the PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI has already become a topic of discussion. Back in January, gaming insider Tom Henderson first revealed that Rockstar Games will release the PC version in autumn 2027, which is fully in line with the studio's schedule. Then, the game appears in Loaded digital store priced at £60.99 ($82). At last, another insider’s report arrived last week, when DetectiveSeeds shared that he connected with former Rockstar Games employees who allegedly told him that the PC version of the game would be released as early as February 2027. In any case, the PC release of GTA 6 is only a matter of time, but first we have to wait until November 19, when the game launches on consoles.

GTA 6: Pre-Orders

On June 18, Rockstar Games has confirmed that pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6 will start next week, on June 25. The exact time is midnight local time, as confirmed by Rockstar Games' recent update.

What Will Be the Price of GTA 6?

Rockstar Games has announced that the price for GTA 6 standard edition will be $80 and $100 for Ultimate Edition. You can also check out everything about GTA 6 pre-order details: price, bonuses, exact time, and Ultimate Edition.

GTA 6 Budget

Given the scale of GTA 6, as shown in the game’s two trailers, it seems that Rockstar Games is investing heavily in the development of its upcoming project. Developers have repeatedly proven that the enormous costs are worth it: for example, in 2013, when GTA 5 was released, the game generated over $1 billion in revenue on a budget of $265 million.

We still don’t know the exact budget of Grand Theft Auto VI. During Take-Two’s earnings call in May 2025, the CEO of the company, Strauss Zelnick, revealed that GTA 6 might be the most expensive video game ever, with a budget of over $1 billion. However, as revealed by Reddit user Due-Vanilla-8294 earlier this year, it actually could be even bigger - from $2 billion to $3 billion. It’s ten times bigger than the budget of Grand Theft Auto V, so it's no surprise that people are saying Grand Theft Auto 6 could be the biggest video game in history.

GTA 6 Delay History

Back in February 2022, Rockstar Games officially confirmed Grand Theft Auto VI is “well underway” in development, but the debut trailer was introduced almost a year after this statement - on December 5, 2023. At the end of the trailer, Rockstar revealed Grand Theft Auto VI is coming in 2025, with no exact release date being confirmed. The next, second trailer was released last year, on May 6, and it confirmed the game is set to release in May 2026. However, in November Rockstar postponed the game to 2026, and it’s now confirmed the game will be released on November 19, 2026, and no more delays will happen.

It’s not the first time Rockstar Games delayed the GTA titles; as we remember, Grand Theft Auto V was initially set to release in spring 2023, before it got postponed to September that year. The PC version also struggled with delay: it actually happened three times, as Rockstar delayed the game from January 2015 to March and then to April.

How Big Is GTA 6 MAP Gonna Be?

Grand Theft Auto VI - Everything We Know So Far 3

Grand Theft Auto VI is taking place in the State of Leonida, and the players are back in Vice City, an iconic location from 2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Though it’s a different video game universe, the gamers have probably known some places shown during Grand Theft Auto VI trailers and can not wait to explore it more.

Expect from Vice City, Grand Theft Auto VI’s also confirmed to feature these locations: Leonida Keys, tropical island inspired by real-life Florida Keys, Grassrivers, which is a flooded, wetland region in the south of Leonida, Port Gellhorn - Vice City’s port, similar to the one in Florida, and inspired by Panama City, which is also reportedly important to the game’s story. At last, we also have Ambrosia - it’s a huge industrial city in Leonida, which is famous for its sugar refinery complexes and biker’s gang called Final Chapters MC, and Mount Kalaga National Park - probably, one of the most picturesque places in Grand Theft Auto VI; it’s a national park that consists of forests, rivers, canyons. The players will be able to do fishing, hunting, kayaking and so on.

Speaking of the map’s size in GTA VI, with the release of Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, more details about the game have started to emerge, including the info about the game's map. As revealed by IGN, the map in GTA 6 is reportedly three times bigger than in Red Dead Redemption 2 and twice bigger than in GTA 5. Additionally, Vice City itself is twice as big as Los Santos and eleven times larger in terms of density. You can also check the State of Leonida interactive map, created by users with all the leaks and confirmed information mentioned.

GTA 6 Story: Characters

Grand Theft Auto VI - Everything We Know So Far 4

GTA VI is confirmed to have two protagonists - Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Jason is a criminal, who worked for drugsellers, and, according to Rockstar Games website, he “grew up around grifters and crooks”. As for Lucia, she is another criminal, spend some time in Leonida Penitentiary for undisclosed crime. Lucia is also having a connection to Liberty City, location from Grand Theft Auto IV. As also revealed after the premiere of Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, the relationship between Lucia and Jason plays an important role in the gameplay of GTA 6 and its story. For instance, long absense and lack of communiation will impact your relationship and how do you deal together on missions. A romantic storyline, meanwhile, is optional, while you will have more chances if you spend more time together outside story missions in GTA 6.

Expect for Jason and Lucia, there are some confirmed characters in GTA VI, who appeared in official trailers, released by Rockstar Games so far:

  • Cal Hampton - friend of Jason, who works in Brian’s Boat Works & Marina;
  • Boobie Ike - a businessman in Vice City, who owns a strip club, recording studio and real estate;
  • Dre’Quan Priest - musician who appears in Boobie Ike’s strip club;
  • Brian Heder - an experienced drug runner, who also rents the house for Jason;
  • Raul Bausista - a specialist in bank robberies;
  • Bae-Luxe and Roxy - also known as Real Dimez, they are rap duo that know each other from high school;

GTA 6: Story

Grand Theft Auto VI - Everything We Know So Far 6

So far, there are not many details of GTA VI’ story. As mentioned above, Jason and Lucia are two protagonists in the upcoming game, and what is confirmed, that we will see them taking part in common robberies, similar to Bonnie and Clyde, and also witness the development of their relationship.

With the information that appears after the release of An Extended Look on Netflix, the story of GTA 6 will demand players to make choices (small and big ones), and they will eventually have consequences. The game will be fully linear, but Rockstar has teased it will have different endings and wants players to complete the game multiple times. It may also be tied to the game's honor system, similar to Red Dead Redemption 2; however, the stakes will be higher.

Grand Theft Auto VI is not confirmed to have any story connection to the previous title, Grand Theft Auto V, although both games exist in the same universe. Anyway, Grand Theft Auto VI is a standalone title, however, it may include references to previous GTA games. As mentioned before, Lucia has some connection to Liberty City, as her mom is confirmed to be from there. Grand Theft Auto IV, released back in 2008, was set in this location.

GTA 6 Multiplayer

Grand Theft Auto VI - Everything We Know So Far 7

Grand Theft Auto VI is confirmed to have multiplayer, and according to other leaks, 32 players will be available to play simultaneously in one session. However, Rockstar Games hasn’t announced any form of multiplayer to appear in GTA VI, and there is no title for this right now. By the way, Rockstar Games recently added some new features in Grand Theft Auto V’s GTA Online, such as pets, gym and NPC jobs, and this could indicate the features will be available not only in GTA VI’s story mode, but in the game’s multiplayer as well.

GTA 6 Cast

So far, Rockstar Games hasn’t given any comments on the cast of Grand Theft Auto VI. However, with the release of Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, Manni L. Perez has confirmed that she is officially voicing Lucia in GTA 6, as revealed via the actress' latest Instagram post. As for Jason, his voice actor hasn't been revealed yet, but rumors are claiming Dylan Rourke is in charge of the role. Additionally, there have been reports that actors like Oscar Jaenada (as Raul Bautista), Bobby Moynihan (as Cal Hampton), and Stephen Root (as Brian Heder) are also involved in the GTA 6. Meanwhile, Jim Santangeli, the voice of Simon Pearson in Red Dead Redemption 2, has confirmed he will be in GTA 6, and added that his role is small. This should be taken with a grain of salt, as Rockstar Games hasn't confirmed.

GTA 6 Leaks & Rumors

Over the last years, a lot of leaks and rumors have appeared, and some of them are definitely true, because they were shared by former Rockstar Games developers. According to the latest big Reddit leak, Grand Theft Auto VI will have 5 chapters, Lucia is the central character of the game, and the open world is that huge, as more than 700 interiors are available for discovering.

Rockstar Games definitely tried to cover one’s tracks about all the possible leaks, however, it spread so quickly, and right now the players have more unofficial information about Grand Theft Auto VI, specifically, about its gameplay, as early versions of the game were leaked as videos.

After the announcement of Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look but before its premiere on Netflix, Cyberleek had started to leak GTA 6 gameplay videos, but he's reportedly stopped his activity, as he withdrew funds earned by his own cryptocurrency. Over the last week, he revealed 16 gameplay clips of GTA 6 including, the prologue to the game featuring Lucia in prison.

GTA 6: Rockstar Games Hacking Incident

GTA 6 has faced numerous issues regarding a series of leaks, particularly since 2022, when nearly 100 videos were posted online, including early gameplay footage, a fresh look at the RAGE engine, as well as confirmation of Vice City’s setting return and the presence of two main characters—Jason and Lucia.

Last week, Rockstar Games was attacked by the ShinyHunters hacker group —presumably, “a prolific group of English-speaking cybercriminals, thought to be in their teens, who specialize in data theft and extortion.” They demanded a ransom from the developers, which Rockstar Games refused to pay; as a result, the hacking group released the studio’s data—though not about GTA 6, but rather regarding the studio’s revenue from GTA Online.

The latest leak from ShinyHunters shows massive earnings for Rockstar Games thanks to GTA Online. For instance, GTA 5’s multiplayer mode is bringing studios about $9.5 million per week and almost $1.5 million per day. PlayStation 5 generates the most revenue for the game—about $4.5 million per week (with 3.5 million active users)—while PC players generate the least—just over $250,000 with nearly 900,000 active players. It’s no surprise that Rockstar Games is focusing on releasing games on consoles before bringing them to PC.

Given the leaked revenue data, as well as a recent statement by YouTuber HipHopGamer that players will be able to become millionaires thanks to GTA 6’s user-generated content, one can only imagine how much revenue Rockstar Games will generate when the sixth installment is released—it will likely break all kinds of records.
