Microsoft Might Release Project Helix This Year
Last month, Microsoft officially announced the company’s next-generation console—Project Helix. The announcement came from the new CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Asha Sharma, and a week later the first details were shared at Game Developers Conference presentation by Jason Ronald, the studio’s Vice President of Next Generation.
We also heard the reports that a full-scale launch of Project Helix is being eyed for 2027, and it was partly confirmed by Jason Ronald, who stated that Microsoft is planning to send alpha versions of their new console in early 2027. However, the newest information comes from MP1st’s writer and leaker eXtas1s, according to whom Microsoft could actually release Project Helix in the second half of 2026, not 2027, as was previously reported.
As revealed in the newest post of Legion Looterana, with a reference to eXtas1s's words, Chicony Electronics, the supplier of Microsoft, is forecasting a 50% revenue increase for the second half of the year, which might be an indicator for Project Helix's release this year.
- Rumors are circulating that Microsoft's next console (Xbox "Helix") could arrive in the second half of this year, not in 2027 as previously thought;
- The key clue? Chicony Electronics, Microsoft's power supply supplier, is forecasting a massive 50% revenue increase for the second half of the year;
- With Series X|S sales declining and the PS6 still a way off... everything points to a new machine already in development;
As we know, it was previously reported that 2027 will be the year when Microsoft releases Project Helix and Sony releases their new next-generation console, PlayStation 6. However, this new rumor makes one wonder whether Microsoft might be trying to get a head start while Sony has yet to officially confirm the first details of its upcoming console.
For now, you can find out information about Project Helix's price, specifications, and comparison to other devices here.
