Halloween Video Game Gets New Overview Trailer
Last August, on Future Game Show, the new Halloween game, based on John Carpenter’s horror classic, was announced. It’s a co-op multiplayer title by IllFonic (Friday the 13th: The Game), which is set to release this autumn but also confirmed to have a single-player campaign based on Halloween movie released back in 1978.
IGN recently presented the overview of Halloween video game, which provides more information on the gameplay mechanics. Similar to Friday the 13th: The Game, we have five players who have to work together to save themselves from the masked murderer. They can find weapons in houses and use them against Mike Myers, but you can’t kill him—just knock him out temporarily. At the same time, Myers can use some abilities like turning into a shadow to pass through doors and walls and also see when his potential victims can be located using a special sense. Finally, survivors can receive allies as police and iconic Dr. Samuel Loomis from Halloween movie, who can use a gun against Mike Myers. The players' goal is to make their way to the evacuation zone, where the police will pick them up. You can check out more gameplay shots from the video below:
Halloween is also using Unreal Engine 5 and developing for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. John Carpenter, the director of original Halloween movie, serving as game’s executive producer. The release date is currently planned for September 8.
