Characters Who Might Appear in Resident Evil Requiem
Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth installment in Capcom’s famous horror franchise, is releasing in a few days, and it’s one of the most anticipated titles of 2026 and potentially a contender for Game of the Year awards, according to early predictions. The game will have two protagonists—a brand-new character, Grace Ashcroft, and one of the main faces of Resident Evil game series, Leon S. Kennedy, who is finally coming back on the screens.
The fans cannot wait to see the chemistry between them and the consequences of the Raccoon City accident in a new game. Resident Evil Requiem is definitely going to be a massive, and the gamers are confident some familiar faces from the past will appear in the upcoming game. Which one exactly? You can find out in this article.
Honorable mention: Chris Redfield and Ada Wong

We cannot just ignore such characters as Chris Redfield and Ada Wong when it comes to any Resident Evil game, as they are two of the most iconic and recognizable characters of the franchise. Chris had a big role in the previous title, Resident Evil Village, and a special connection to the Winters family after his minor appearance at the end of Resident Evil 7. Speaking about Ada, well, she doesn’t need an introduction. He has been, perhaps, the closest person to Leon S. Kennedy; however, according to Resident Evil leaker and insider AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem, both characters will not return in Requiem - even after a potential teaser from Capcom, where you can hear the voice in the short film, similar to Lily Gao, who voiced Ada Wong. However, we can still expect them to be mentioned by someone during the game.
Rosemary Winters
Rosemary Winters is a surprising character rumored to return in Resident Evil Requiem. She is the daughter of Ethan and Mia from Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village. GameStop’s leak suggested Rosemary will also be a playable character as part of the game’s Deluxe Edition. Rosemary is definitely will have more screen time in future Resident Evil titles but for now it’s actually hard to imagine her in Requiem, as the story doesn’t actually seem to be related with her. Anyway, if she is in the game, it will be a great way to continue her story after DLC for Resident Evil Village – Shadows of Rose.
Sherry Birkin

One specific character that was previously teased by Capcom is Sherry Birkin. This month, a new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem was shown during PlayStation’s State of Play. At the end, we see a female with blonde hair and a short haircut; we also hear her voice but don't see her face. Considering her close relations with Leon and the events of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 6, it’s almost a guarantee Sherry will return in Resident Evil Requiem, even after Capcom teased her return this way.
Rebecca Chambers
This character may not be familiar to gamers, as everyone else, but she could appear in Resident Evil Requiem as well, and her return is actually seeming logical. Rebecca Chamber previously appeared in the original Resident Evil, Resident Evil Zero, and Resident Evil 5; just like Ada and Sherry, she’s related to Leon S. Kennedy. Rebecca actually saved him a couple of times, and considering Leon is seemingly infected in Requiem and Rebecca is a great biochemist, he may need her help. Plus, Resident Evil Zero remake is rumored to be in development, where Rebecca is one of the main characters, and Capcom may remind the players who Rebecca Chambers is before her another return in upcoming remake.
Clair Redfield
Last but not least is Clair Redfield, another important character in Resident Evil lore, the sister of Chris Redfield, one of Raccoon City's survivors, who appeared in multiple game series titles. Unlike Chris Redfield and Ada Wong, who, according to Dusk Golem will surely not appear in Requiem, Claire Redfield was never mentioned, and that makes the players think she might actually appear in the game. Especially if Sherry Birkin is in the game as well, it would make a lot of sense to unite Sherry, Claire, and Leon, which will be an emotional moment. And just like Rebecca is the main character in Resident Evil Zero, the remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica is also reportedly in development, featuring Claire and her brother Chris as protagonists. Surely, it’s an indirect reason why Claire Redfield could be appearing in Resident Evil Requiem, but she’s also one of the most popular and badass female characters in the franchise, and seeing her after her latest appearance in Resident Evil: Revelations 2 would be awesome.
