A Successful Simpsons Crossover and What’s Next

Fortnite’s recent crossover with The Simpsons has proven to be one of the game’s most successful collaborations to date. Both long-time fans and new players have jumped into the iconic town of Springfield, which even received its own animated short on Disney+. And while more crossovers are rumored to be on the way, Epic Games appears ready to spice things up further with major gameplay innovations.

Leaked Gameplay Changes: Mobility and Survival

The popular leaker NotPaloLeaks shared that Chapter 7 could feature reboot vans players can drive, as well as a self-revive mechanic. Traditionally, reboot vans have been stationary points scattered across the island, allowing players in team modes to bring their fallen teammates back into the fight. However, traveling between these vans has always been risky — other squads often camp nearby or converge on the same location. If teams could move the van, it would open up new tactical options and potentially speed up the flow of the game, making revives safer and more strategic.

As for self-revive, the concept isn’t new to battle royales, appearing in titles like Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone. However, it’s also a divisive mechanic. Typically, players need a special item to self-revive, and the process takes time — leaving them vulnerable to enemy fire. In Fortnite’s fast-paced environment, how Epic Games chooses to implement this feature could make or break its balance.

More Leaks Point to Exciting Collaborations

These leaks join a growing list of rumors surrounding Chapter 7. Reports suggest that new Stranger Things-themed cosmetics are on the way, alongside potential collaborations with Harry Potter and SpongeBob SquarePants.
