Fortnite Players Quickly Unlock First Reward in Save the World Community Event
Fortnite’s Save the World community has already completed the first milestone of the newly launched community event, unlocking the Kyle’s Construction spray for participating players just one day after the event began.
Originally, Save the World was the core experience Epic Games planned for Fortnite. However, the unexpected success of Fortnite Battle Royale—released as the battle royale genre surged in popularity—shifted the company’s focus toward the free-to-play multiplayer mode. As Battle Royale rapidly gained millions of players, Epic Games expanded its development efforts in that direction, leaving Save the World with less attention over time.
While Battle Royale has always been free to play, access to Save the World initially required purchasing a Founder’s Pack, which granted early access to the mode. The plan was for Save the World to eventually become free-to-play upon its full release. Instead, when the Founder’s Pack was removed from the store, it was replaced by other paid bundles such as the Cuddle Buns Pack and the Ninja Sarah Pack, meaning the mode remained behind a purchase requirement.
First Community Goal Reached in Record Time

Nearly nine years after its original launch, Epic Games has finally confirmed that Save the World will become free-to-play, with the official launch scheduled for April 16. To celebrate the transition, the studio introduced a community goal event encouraging players to register for the upcoming release.
The event went live on March 12, with the goal of reaching one million registered players. The community quickly achieved the first milestone—set at 30% of the goal—the very next day, meaning more than 300,000 players had already registered through the official website.
Save the World Community Event Rewards
Players who participate in the event can unlock several rewards as milestones are reached:
- Milestone #1: Kyle’s Construction spray
- Milestone #2: Save the World Jess banner
- Milestone #3: Snowstrike hero

With more than a month remaining before the event concludes on April 16, the campaign has already started strong. Community events often see rapid progress early on as dedicated players sign up quickly after launch. Growth may slow slightly afterward as more casual players gradually join in.
Given Fortnite’s massive global player base—even nearly a decade after its release—the community is expected to have a strong chance of unlocking all rewards before the deadline.
Players Can Still Claim Early Rewards
Since the event only recently began, some players may worry that they missed the opportunity to earn the first reward. Fortunately, rewards remain available even after milestones are reached.
Players simply need to register on the official Save the World website before April 16 to qualify for any rewards unlocked during the event.
The Kyle’s Construction spray and Save the World Jess banner can both be used in Battle Royale, meaning they will be added directly to players’ lockers once unlocked. Meanwhile, the Snowstrike hero is exclusive to Save the World and can only be claimed before April 16 by players who already own the mode.
