Kliff Skin Arrives With Crimson Desert Launch

On March 12, Epic Games Store’s social media accounts shared the first image of the crossover cosmetic. The design appears to be based on Kliff’s default appearance, which has been prominently featured in the promotional material for Crimson Desert.

The skin will become available in Fortnite on March 19 at 6 PM ET, coinciding with the launch of Crimson Desert. Anyone who pre-orders the game through the Epic Games Store will automatically receive the Kliff skin.

Players who purchase Crimson Desert after launch will also receive the cosmetic, as the promotion will remain active for as long as the game is available for sale on the Epic Games Store. Once an Epic account is linked across multiple platforms, the skin can be used across devices.

Although the Kliff skin is currently tied to the promotional offer, Epic has indicated that it may appear in the Fortnite Item Shop at a later date.

About Crimson Desert and Its Protagonist

Kliff serves as the main protagonist of Crimson Desert, a single-player open-world action adventure developed by Pearl Abyss, the studio behind Black Desert Online. First announced during The Game Awards 2020, the project has steadily built anticipation thanks to its ambitious gameplay mechanics and cinematic presentation.

The story centers on Kliff’s mission to reunite the scattered members of the Greymanes clan, which suffers devastating losses early in the narrative at the hands of Myurdin, leader of the rival Black Bears faction.

In addition to Kliff, the game will feature two additional playable characters: Damiane and Oongka. Unlike many open-world titles, these protagonists are fixed characters rather than fully customizable avatars, though limited personalization options such as hairstyles, tattoos, armor dyes, and equipment choices will still be available.

It remains unclear whether the Fortnite version of Kliff will include alternate styles inspired by these customization options.

Crossover Arrives During a Busy Period for Fortnite

The crossover is scheduled to launch alongside Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2, which was recently delayed by two weeks due to technical issues affecting the game.

The collaboration also arrives shortly after a controversial change to Fortnite’s V-Bucks system. Epic Games recently confirmed that players will now receive fewer V-Bucks for the same price. For example, the $8.99 bundle now grants 800 V-Bucks instead of the previous 1,000.

Although the Battle Pass price has been reduced from 1,000 to 800 V-Bucks, players can now only earn 800 V-Bucks from the pass, meaning it no longer generates extra currency beyond the initial purchase.

Despite the ongoing debate surrounding these changes, the Crimson Desert crossover is expected to draw attention from both Fortnite players and fans of Pearl Abyss’ upcoming game.
