Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2025 Broadcast Announced with Forza Horizon 6 Speculation
Microsoft has revealed its plans for Tokyo Game Show 2025, confirming a dedicated Xbox broadcast scheduled for September 25 at 7 pm JST (3 am Pacific/ 6 am Eastern/ 11 am UK). The event will feature updates from first-party studios as well as announcements from third-party developers and publishers across Asia and beyond. With a global audience in mind, Xbox is presenting the showcase as a platform for both its own projects and collaborations with Japanese studios.
Mena Kato, Senior Director of Xbox Asia, explained the company’s vision for the broadcast.
“The show will feature titles from our creative teams, alongside news from our partners in Japan, across Asia, and around the world,” Kato said in a post on Xbox Wire. “We know players around the world delight in Japan-inspired content and games developed in Asia, and we can’t wait to connect with players across the globe to show off the incredible talent and creativity behind upcoming games coming to Xbox.” — Mena Kato
One of the most notable highlights is Ninja Gaiden 4, which will be playable at TGS and is expected to feature prominently during the broadcast. Developed jointly by Koei Tecmo’s Team Ninja and PlatinumGames, and published by Xbox Game Studios, the game marks a significant co-production that demonstrates Microsoft’s ongoing investment in Japanese partnerships. Interviews at gamescom 2025 have already set expectations high, and its appearance at TGS will likely provide a deeper look.
Hardware will also have its share of attention. The ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, portable gaming handhelds developed in partnership with ASUS, are confirmed to appear. Both were revealed during Gamescom 2025 with an October release date, though pricing details remain undisclosed. TGS could be the venue where Microsoft finally confirms retail costs and distribution plans for the devices.
Bethesda, now an established part of Xbox’s portfolio, will also have a presence at the show, co-hosting a booth that features merchandise for Fallout, Starfield, Doom, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. While no direct game announcements have been confirmed, this could provide an opportunity for smaller updates or community engagement around existing franchises.

Speculation, however, is building around something larger. Fans suspect that Forza Horizon 6 will make its first appearance at the event. Phil Spencer has already confirmed that the next Forza installment is planned for 2026, and many believe the broadcast’s “urban neon aesthetic” strongly hints at Tokyo. According to Kato, the design “puts the viewer in a street scene that is distinctly Tokyo, with various signs illuminating the way, all featuring gaming and Xbox iconography.” The choice of imagery has only fueled speculation that the next Horizon entry is ready for a reveal.
These theories gained momentum after a now-deleted social media post from Cult and Classic, a car import company connected to the series. The post featured an image of a Forza Horizon staff member scanning Kei cars, vehicles closely associated with Japan and rarely found outside the country. Fans quickly concluded this was a direct hint toward the setting of Forza Horizon 6.
"Exciting news! We have Cody here, from @forzahorizonofficial, shooting cars for the next installation in the series. As there are no late-model Kei cars in America, he has flown out from the states to use our cars as the basis for their digital versions. We are HUGE gamers here at Cult and Classic, and it is an honor to be supporting Forza and making Kei cars accessible virtually for people who can't have them IRL." — Cult and Classic
The fact that the post was swiftly removed only intensified speculation. Japan has long been one of the most requested settings for the series, which has previously taken players through Australia, the UK, and Mexico. A Japanese backdrop would bring new cultural and automotive possibilities, especially with the popularity of Kei cars and urban street racing. With Turn 10 Studios facing heavy staff reductions earlier this year and its role in Forza Motorsport uncertain, Playground Games appears firmly positioned to carry the Horizon brand forward.
Taken together, the confirmed lineup of Ninja Gaiden 4, the debut of Xbox’s handhelds, and potential Forza Horizon news make the Tokyo Game Show 2025 broadcast a significant event for Microsoft. By emphasizing Japanese partnerships, hardware expansion, and one of its most successful franchises, the company is framing TGS as a strategic moment in its global roadmap. Whether Forza Horizon 6 is formally unveiled remains to be seen, but the signs suggest that Xbox’s showcase may deliver more than expected.
