Skyrim Player Discovers Hidden Path 13 Years After Game’s Release
A Skyrim player recently discovered a hidden path early in the game, noticing it 13 years after its release. Despite nearly every corner of Skyrim’s world being explored over the years, some players have yet to uncover all the secrets Bethesda’s iconic RPG has to offer.
Given Skyrim's enduring popularity, it's astonishing that there are still parts of the game that remain undiscovered. Skyrim is a game that encourages multiple playthroughs, with players making different choices each time. Even so, there's so much content that even after 13 years, there’s no guarantee that a player will find everything.
Redditor Secure_Buffalo_580 shared their discovery, revealing a direct path from Riverwood to Bleak Falls Barrow, the first major dungeon players typically encounter. The game's design usually leads players to head directly from Riverwood to Whiterun, before eventually being sent back to Bleak Falls Barrow through a quest. However, just a slight change in direction allows players to take a direct route to the dungeon, a path that few players seem to find, even in repeated playthroughs.
Another user in the thread mentioned that this isn't the only hidden path in the area. There's also a third route leading to Anise's Cabin on the way to Bleak Falls Barrow, showing that players have multiple options early on. However, most players naturally end up heading to Whiterun, making these alternate routes a surprising discovery.
Despite players still finding new things in Skyrim, the anticipation for a sequel continues to grow. The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced six years ago, yet fans know very little about it beyond rumors and potential leaks. The game was revealed earlier than expected, and with the wait for The Elder Scrolls 6 reaching 13 years in November, players are eager for more. Fortunately, with Starfield's release, Bethesda has shifted its focus to The Elder Scrolls 6, so development is now in full swing.
