eFootball 2026 v5.4.0 Update — New Mode, Free Epics & Major Gameplay Changes
eFootball 2026 is set to receive its v5.4.0 update on April 9, 2026, and this time, the upcoming content is much clearer. The update is headlined by a major 1 Billion Downloads campaign, alongside significant gameplay changes that are expected to impact the overall meta.
Master League Sprint Arrives

One of the most anticipated features—Master League—is finally making its way into the game, but in a different form than expected. Instead of a full offline mode, it will be introduced as a limited-time event called Master League Sprint.
This mode offers a streamlined, online-focused experience where players manage a team, play matches, and earn rewards within a shorter progression cycle. The starting squad will include original Master League-style players, giving it a familiar feel despite the new format.
1 Billion Downloads Campaign
The update also introduces the 1 Billion Downloads campaign, running from April 9 to April 30, 2026. Players will be able to use previously collected Chance Deals to sign top-tier players.

The campaign features Epic players, including:
- Ronaldinho
- Angelo Peruzzi
- Steven Gerrard
- Francesco Totti
- Cafu
- Edmilson
- Dimitar Berbatov
Players can earn up to 23 Chance Deals through login bonuses and objectives, giving multiple opportunities to sign one of these Epics from a 250-player pool. There may also be an additional free chance to sign one of the featured players.
National All-Stars Epic Pack
A new National All-Stars pack will also be introduced, headlined by a Big Time Eden Hazard card, potentially reaching an overall rating of 109.

Other featured players are expected to include:
- Wesley Sneijder
- Frank Lampard
- Dragan Stojković
- Pep Guardiola
- Pepe
One additional slot appears unconfirmed, with speculation pointing toward Zlatan Ibrahimović, though licensing issues may affect his inclusion.
Major Gameplay Changes
The biggest highlight of the update is the shift in gameplay, particularly in dribbling, defending, and shooting.
- Dribbling will feel faster and smoother, with improvements to dash dribbling and Sharp Touch mechanics
- Defenders will react slightly slower in one-on-one situations, reducing unrealistic recoveries
- Tackling has been rebalanced, with harsher penalties for tackles from behind, including more red cards
- Pressing mechanics have been adjusted, making constant pressure less effective
On the attacking side:
- Long-range shots are expected to be more accurate in certain situations
- Chip shots will be more effective when facing the goalkeeper
At the same time, some mechanics have been toned down:
- Long passes will be less accurate for lower-rated players
- Time-wasting tactics, especially involving defenders and goalkeepers, will be less effective
What to Expect
With a mix of new content, limited-time modes, and impactful gameplay adjustments, the v5.4.0 update is shaping up to be one of the most important patches for eFootball 2026 so far.
